Capcom's cartoon cavalcade begins this fall.


SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 25, 1995--Capcom has a season of animated action that is certain to please kids of all ages.

This fall, Capcom Entertainment will launch the animated cartoon animated cartoon: see Nontheatrical Film under motion pictures.  series "DarkStalkers" and "Street Fighter: The Animated Series," and renew the "Mega Man Mega Man may refer to:

"DarkStalkers" has currently been placed in syndication in over 75 percent of the United States. "DarkStalkers" focuses on Bobby Bridges, an aspiring young wizard, who teams up with all the night warriors from the incredible arcade game. Expect to find elements of magic and the supernatural balanced with just a touch of humor as DarkStalkers debuts this September.

Graz Entertainment is also handling the production of "Street Fighter: The Animated Series," which will be seen exclusively on the USA Network when it begins Oct. 21. The most popular game in the world demanded the sort of attention that only a high-profile company like Graz could provide.

Colonel Guile figures prominently in the new animated adventures, as he leads his band of Street Fighters in a covert battle against the forces of evil, represented by Bison, the sinister leader of the Shadowloo crime syndicate. Expect the cartoon series to rock with as much action and excitement as the video game.

As a reward for his first season performance, Capcom renewed the "Mega Man" series with 13 brand new episodes. Ruby Spears will again be handling the production of the show, bringing their talent to Mega Man's wild battles against Doctor Wily's insidious plots. Expect to see the return of Mega Man's allies, as well as his foes, as they face a whole new cast of robotic henchman. In this season's episodes, Mega-fans can also look forward to the introduction of Mega Man X Mega Man X may refer to:

  • Mega Man X (series), a series of sequels and spin-offs based on the original game.

At the same time that Capcom was working on the live-action "Street Fighter" movie in the United States, Capcom Japan was preparing their own unique feature film. "Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie" was released to Japanese movie theaters in the summer of 1994, and went on to gross more than $16 million during its run, placing it among the top five movies of that year.

Now, Renegade, Sony Music Video's new label, is making this smash Japanese animated movie available here in the States in January 1996.
