Capacity building activities will help in introducing research culture in field of medical education.Peshawar, November 01, 2009 (Balochistan Times ): A 3-day workshop organized by Directorate of Research and Development (R&D) Khyber Medical University (KMU KMU Kleinen und Mittleren Unternehmen KMU Kilusang Mayo Uno (May First Movement, Philippines) KMU Kelab Maya Umno (UMNO Cyber Club, Malaysia) KMU Kleine und Mittelstandsunternehmen ), Peshawar at Khyber girls Medical College (KGMC KGMC King George Medical College (India) ) Peshawar on Bio Statistics and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS A statistical package from SPSS, Inc., Chicago (www.spss.com) that runs on PCs, most mainframes and minis and is used extensively in marketing research. It provides over 50 statistical processes, including regression analysis, correlation and analysis of variance. ) concluded here at Peshawar. Faculty members from KGMC and Post Graduate medical Institute (PGMI) Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC HMC Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, CA) HMC Harborview Medical Center (Seattle, Washington) HMC Hosted Messaging and Collaboration HMC Hoffman Modulation Contrast ) participated in the workshop. VC KMU Prof. Dr. Mohammad hafizullah was the chief guest at the concluding session. The workshop aimed to give hand on training on Bio Statistical and the use of SPSS package for health research data analysis. The objective of the workshop was to train participants in basic statistical methods and to guide them, how to enter data and perform statistical analysis using SPSS. Dr. Zahid Jadoon, Dr. Hamid Hussain Ayatollah Sayyid Mir Hamid Hussain Musavi Kintoori Lakhnavi (مولانا سيد مير حامد حسين لكهنوى) was a leading Shia scholar of , Dr. Iftikahruddin and Dr. Sajjad delivered lectures on various topics on this occasion. In the concluding session VC KMU Prof. Dr. Mohamamd Hafizullah as chief guest has appreciated the participatory role of the faculty of KGMC and PGMI HMC. He said that organizing such kind of learning and capacity building activities will help in introducing research culture in the field of medical education. VC KMU Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah assured the participants that KMU would like to continue such research related activities in shape of organizing workshops and seminars in the affiliated medical institutes of KMU. At the end VC KMU Prof. Dr. Mobhammad Hafizullah distributed certificates among the participants.
