CapStar Hotel Company completes purchase of Embassy Suites-South Denver.

), a leading hotel investment and management company, today said it had completed the previously announced acquisition of the Embassy Suites-South Denver from Mutual of New York New York, state, United States

We purchased the property at approximately 75 percent of replacement cost, which includes all costs associated with the acquisition. We continue to aggressively seek acquisitions of this caliber nationwide."

CapStar will undertake a $500,000 renovation of the property, including upgrading public areas and enhancing the building exterior. The 10-year-old, 236-suite hotel is located within the 776-acre Denver Technology Center, approximately 15 miles southeast of downtown Denver and one-half mile from Interstate 25, the major north/south artery for the Denver metropolitan area.

The hotel serves the business traveler and small to mid-size meeting market during the week and is a popular weekend getaway for leisure guests. The hotel's distinctive nine-story tower features an elegant, enclosed atrium atrium (ā`trēəm), term for an interior court in Roman domestic architecture and also for a type of entrance court in early Christian churches.
