CapMed Launches PHR Advisory Council; Experts from the Field and Policy Help Guide CapMed on PHR Offering.


NEWTOWN, Pa. -- CapMed, a division of Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ/NMS: BITI BITI Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc. (stock symbol) ), a leader in personal health management solutions, announced today the formation of the CapMed Advisory Council (CAC See Consumer Advisory Council. ). The CAC is comprised of industry and policy experts who will provide leadership and direction on the emerging personal health management industry and personal health record (PHRs) market. The council will meet at least three times per year and will provide insight on the CapMed product direction and a holistic market strategy to support the creation and adoption of interoperable, consumer-centric solutions that drive consumer empowerment in the healthcare industry.

Members of the council are experts in health information technology, with strong backgrounds in personal health management solutions. Charter members include:

Missy Krasner, MA, senior strategy consultant. Prior to consulting, Ms. Krasner served as Senior Advisor In some countries, a Senior Advisor is an appointed position by the Head of State to advise on the highest levels of national and government policy. Sometimes a junior position to this is called a National Policy Advisor.  to David J. Brailer, M.D., Ph.D., the nation's first National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. Dr. Brailer was appointed by President Bush in May of 2004 and was charged with developing a plan for nationwide adoption of interoperable health information technology. Ms. Krasner was also involved in the design and launch of the Santa Barbara Care Data Exchange, the nation's fist Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO RHIO Regional Health Information Organization ). Ms. Krasner has over 15 years of product marketing, communications, and public affairs experience in the healthcare industry. The council convened for its first meeting during the HIMSS HIMSS Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society  conference in San Diego, CA, February 14.
