Cap Conference Round-Up.

With more than 300 members, the largest attended NAA Capitol Conference at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City in Arlington, Va., wrapped up three days of NAA committee meetings and updates, Congessional visits, and just plain fun.

Along with a slew of vital topic sessions such as EPA Renovation and Repair, International Building Codes, and Association Relations, there was some time to relax. Especially when the versatile Capitol Steps took the stage and had NAA members laughing right along.

The annual NAA spring-time event was culminated by the Visits to the Hill where NAA members sat down with their Congressional Representatives to discuss issues pertinent to the multifamily housing industry and rally support for important upcoming legislation. Nearly 150 visits were scheduled with members of 20 state delegations representing 29 Senators and 109 Representatives. Following those visits, a debriefing room was set up at the Ritz Carlton to allow NAA members to complete visit forms.

An important new book premiered at the conference, Human Resource Management for Apartment Communities. The book was developed with funds from the NAA Education Foundation and the Apartment Association Greater Dallas Foundation. The manual is designed to provide the industry with an authoritative source of information and is the first comprehensive resource of its kind targeted specifically for property owners and managers.
