Canyon Capital announces JV for land acquisitions.Canyon Capital Realty Advisors announced that it has formed a new joint venture--River Canyon--to acquire property intended primarily, but not exclusively, for residential uses and invest in land ventures and land-owning entities. The two Canyon entities, which together have more than $16.5 billion in assets currently under management, will be joined in the new venture by River West Investments, owned and headed by Brian Vail, and by Riverview Capital Investments, owned and led by former California State Treasurer The California State Treasurer is responsible for the state's investment and finance.
