Cantillon was fined pounds 400 by the racecourse stewards at the track's meeting on September 4 after being found guilty of verbally abusing stable manager Richard Aggett and clerk of the course Pat Masterson. Cantillon, whose solicitors on Thursday wrote to the Jockey Club to highlight his concerns, said: "The stables are not safe for horses, with the most dangerous thing being the unprotected stable ceilings which expose sharp concrete. "When I did complain, I was told by the gateman Gate´man n. 1. A gate keeper; a gate tender. that I was to do as I was told, and then when I spoke to Pat Masterson he decided to just walk away from me. The people at Newton Abbot treated me like a child." Masterson responded: "To say our stables are not safe is complete rubbish. I believe they were inspected and passed by the Jockey Club's Richard Linley in April, and in 13 years here I've never had any complaints." |
