)--Canon Clare Edwards has been appointed the first Canon Pastor at Canterbury Cathedral by Archbishop of Canterbury The Archbishop of Canterbury is the main leader of the Church of England and by convention is also recognised as head of the worldwide Anglican Communion. The current archbishop is Rowan Williams.  Rowan Williams. Ms. Edwards, 47, has served as Rector of Bletchingley in Surrey since 1995. Trained originally as a children's nurse, she studied for the ministry at Lincoln Theological College and was ordained or·dain
