Cantaloupe raising tip.

COUNTRYSIDE: In response to your ad in the March/April issue regarding sharing good ideas, I have a method for growing cantaloupes I would like to share.

In other countries the term often refers to any material used to fertilize the soil.  on already rich, fertile fer·tile

land two or three times. Since the cantaloupe cantaloupe: see gourd; melon.  was originally developed in the desert, wait for warm weather to plant, otherwise it is a waste of your time and seed. The Burpee
For the seed company, see W. Atlee Burpee.

The burpee is a calisthenic exercise performed to increase strength and explosiveness.
Hybrid variety has proven to be the best choice for me and it is advantageous to start the seed indoors, if possible.

A hive of honeybees placed near the cantaloupe patch will increase the yield by 25-50%. The bees will visit a blossom every 15 minutes starting at 8:00 A.M. and continuing until about noon. Every visit by the bees assures that the cantaloupe will be larger in size and much sweeter. -- Neil A. Rhodes, 780 Bank Church Rd., Dayton, VA 22821
