), has promoted Naoki Ayata to senior vice president and general manager of the company's Semiconductor Equipment Division.

Mr. Ayata also acknowledged that greater collaboration among equipment manufacturers and chipmakers is necessary to manage the costs and risks of next generation lithography development.
