), today introduced a new line of imageRUNNER Networked Office Systems at the Canon Digital Solution Forum, the Company's annual showcase of technological leadership and future strategic vision.

Spanning a range of speeds that address the needs of mid and high-volume customers, the new models on display include the imageRUNNER 85 for production printing environments, the imageRUNNER 7200 for high-volume corporate departments, and the imageRUNNER 3300i for mid-volume workgroups.

Canon imageRUNNER 85 Production Printer

The imageRUNNER 85 is an 85 page-per-minute (ppm (Pages Per Minute) The measurement of printer speed. See gppm.

) black-and-white production printer with a robust set of document throughput and finishing capabilities designed to enhance overall productivity. The print engine of the unit can support a monthly print volume of up to 400,000 impressions, and is intended for use within Host-Based Print Central Reprographic Departments, Print-for-Pay establishments, and distributed Print On Demand environments in mid-to-large size corporations.

From a document-finishing standpoint, the imageRUNNER 85 offers several options, all of which include single and multi-position stapling of up to 100 sheets as standard. Automatic saddle-stitch booklet making, 2 and 3-hole punch, and support for Z-folding and document insertion are all available via optional accessories. For print jobs of extended length, an optional 3,500-sheet paper deck brings total on-line capacity to 7,650 sheets. The imageRUNNER 85 can also print on pages with tabs for generating reports and other documents requiring chapters.

The imageRUNNER 7200 is a 72 ppm black-and-white digital copier with optional network printing and/or scanning capabilities. For consistency in product offerings, the connectivity, software, and document finishing tools available with the imageRUNNER 7200 are identical to other imageRUNNER 8500 devices, enabling organizations to significantly reduce system training time. The imageRUNNER 7200 targets high-volume corporate departments, and can also be utilized in Central Reprographic Departments, and Print-for-Pay and Print On Demand environments.

The imageRUNNER 7200 engine supports a monthly print volume of up to 350,000 impressions, with superior output quality at 600 x 600 dpi and 256 grayscale resolution. With optional 10/100 Ethernet network connectivity and printing support, the device can also perform scanning and true multi-tasking through a robust combination of intuitive software Application programs that have a friendly interface and work like users would expect. Menu functions are available in a logical order that one finds natural. The most common functions are presented in one menu or are located at the top of the menu list rather than being buried in rigid  drivers and control panel features.

Canon imageRUNNER 3300i

The new Canon imageRUNNER 3300i builds on the current available imageRUNNER 3300 by fully leveraging Canon's IP Architecture and the inclusion of Canon's Universal Send Technology. Canon IP enables the imageRUNNER 3300i to serve as a central hub for the distribution and management of corporate information, helping eliminate barriers to communication between paper and digital formats. At the core of the device is a 33 ppm digital copier/printer/scanner with optional faxing capability.

Canon's Universal Send technology, standard on the 3300i model, allows users to scan and distribute documents simultaneously via e-mail, Internet fax Using the Internet to send faxes. Fax servers accept an incoming fax message and route it to a fax server in the same locality as the destination fax machine. The fax server then makes a local telephone call to send the fax. , standard fax, local area network, shared file server or database, to an unlimited number of recipients in a single operation.

With a large color touch screen LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) A display technology that uses rod-shaped molecules (liquid crystals) that flow like liquid and bend light. Several finishing options, including a multi-position stapler/stacker, and a saddle-stitch finisher for V-fold booklet making, are available. Cascade Copy and Remote Copy functions allow users to split copy jobs across multiple IP-enabled imageRUNNER 3300i units. A Remote User Interface function allows access and management of the device over the Internet.
