Canon U.S.A, Inc., today announced that its Medical Systems Division has been awarded a contract from Consorta, Inc., to make Canon digital radiography digital radiography Imaging A format for producing x-rays in which film used to produce conventional x-ray images is replaced with more sensitive sensitive electronics; DXRs produce images with12  (DR) solutions available to Consorta member facilities nationwide.

As part of the Agreement, Consorta will offer the Canon CXDI-31 and CXDI-50G portable DR flat panel sensors and CXDI-40EG general DR flat panel sensor A device that measures or detects a real-world condition, such as motion, heat or light and converts the condition into an analog or digital representation. An optical sensor detects the intensity or brightness of light, or the intensity of red, green and blue for color systems.  for digital upgrades to members' existing AMX-4 and Rad Room analog systems.
