Canon U.S.A. Announces New imageRUNNER 5000 Model; Options for New Base Configuration Receive Performance Upgrades.

), today announced the immediate availability of a new mid-volume imageRUNNER model, the imageRUNNER 5000, which replaces the previously offered imageRUNNER 5000 "S" and "N" models.

With 50 page-per-minute, black-and-white, digital copying standard, the new model responds to customer demands for greater flexibility in selecting optional multifunction capabilities, including network printing and scanning. These two options also have performance upgrades over those offered with previous imageRUNNER 5000 models.

Among the enhancements for the device include a new optional network print controller developed by Canon, the Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A2, which provides improved processing speeds See MHz.  that are up to 1.5 times faster than its predecessor, the Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A1. Optional scanning functionality is also supported with the new controller.

Also available is a Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A2 "Upgrade Kit," which allows existing owners of the imageRUNNER 5000 "S" model the ability to upgrade to the network print performance offered by the new controller.
