We're very excited about the new products we're introducing at this year's show and I'm confident that these products also will be well-received by customers who are looking for the kind of high-quality, reliable solutions that have become hallmarks of the Canon brand."

Spotlight On Color

Throughout the exhibit, Canon's Spotlight On Color theme will help users understand all the different solutions Canon offers to meet the needs of customers for whom exceptional color output is key. In the center of the exhibit, Canon has several new "focus" products it is introducing at Seybold 2002, and these include:
- The Canon Color Laser Copier (CLC) 3900, a new 39 page-per-minute(2) color production system for the entry-level production marketplace. Selected as a "Hot Pick" by the editors of Seybold Publications, the Canon CLC 3900 contains many of the features found in larger, more expensive production devices, but for a fraction of the cost. The base unit suggested retail price of the CLC 3900 is $54,990 and it is expected to fill the need for quality, speed, and reliability at a price that puts production-level color within reach of the smallest office or graphics shop.

- The Kodak Polychrome Graphic (KPG) Matchprint Professional Server, designed by Kodak Polychrome Graphics and Canon, connects to Canon's mid-range CLC 1140/1180 devices and turns them into color-accurate concept proofers and short-run color printers. Coupled with co-branded proofing media designed for the CLC1140/1180, this new solution will allow ad agencies, service bureaus, commercial printers and publishers to produce color proofs that meet the Matchprint proofing standard without experiencing the cost and delays of on-press or digital press proofing methods.

- The Canon imagePROGRAF family of two Large Format Printers and one Color Graphics Printer, whose new 1+-inch print head and super-fine, high density, extreme precision nozzles will set a new standard for large format inkjet printing. All three printers utilize Canon's MicroFine Droplet Technology and a new tubing mechanism that consistently delivers uniform, powerful, high-precision dot placements at very high speeds. The imagePROGRAFW2200 can handle media up to 13" x 19" and is intended as a solution for graphic designers, artists, printers and advertising companies. The imagePROGRAF W7200/7250 are large format printers that produce prints 36" wide and 24" wide, respectively, and are intended for quick-print outlets, advertisers, corporate offices, and manufacturers.

Canon will also showcase some of the software products it has developed to support the Company's line of networked office systems, including:

- imageWARE Document Manager 2002, a database platform that

captures diverse streams of data from throughout an

enterprise, and organizes it into meaningful content that can

be distributed anywhere at any time. The new 2002 version

enriches both the structure and feature set of the software.

- Scan Manager, Canon's premier indexing system that offers

production-level support to process thousands of images at one

time, now includes user-friendly wizards and recognizes

several standard barcode formats and forms.

- Canon NetSpot Accountant software, which helps track and

manage the operating cost of office equipment. Targeted to

corporate workgroups and departments, NetSpot Accountant

tracks copy, print, and fax output pages from Canon devices,

and print output from third-party engines.
