Canon Direct Sales, a division of Canon Canada, Inc., today announced an agreement with Electronics For Imaging (Nasdaq:EFII) to sell its Velocity(TM)workflow software.

EFI is the world leader in providing hardware and software imaging solutions for networked printers and copiers. Velocity is EFI'innovative line of modular, scalable software capable of driving up to ten printers through one common, intuitive interface.

Canon Direct Sales will offer its customers four Velocity modules, including Velocity Balance , Velocity Scan, Velocity Build and Velocity Estimate. The advanced Balance module is the core of the Velocity workflow software system. It features Dynamic PPD technology that automatically self-configures to utilize each print engine to its full capabilities. Velocity Balance directs jobs over multiple printers or splits jobs between colour and black and white printers, seamlessly increasing productivity. Additional Velocity workflow modules -- Scan, Build and Estimate -- further enhance productivity and efficiency of other print workflow processes including scanning paper originals, preparing documents, and estimating job costs.
