is the world leader in providing hardware and software imaging solutions for networked printers and copiers. Velocity is EFI'innovative line of modular, scalable software capable of driving up to ten printers through one common, intuitive interface.

Canon Direct Sales will offer its customers four Velocity modules, including Velocity Balance , Velocity Scan, Velocity Build and Velocity Estimate. The advanced Balance module is the core of the Velocity workflow software system. It features Dynamic PPD (1) (Parallel Presence Detect) The method used by earlier SIMM memory modules to communicate their capacity to the computer. A binary number coming from a parallel set of pins was read by the system, with each pin representing one bit. Contrast with SPD.  technology that automatically self-configures to utilize each print engine to its full capabilities. Velocity Balance directs jobs over multiple printers or splits jobs between colour and black and white printers, seamlessly increasing productivity. Additional Velocity workflow modules -- Scan, Build and Estimate -- further enhance productivity and efficiency of other print workflow processes including scanning paper originals, preparing documents, and estimating job costs.

"EFI's Velocity is a compelling solution for customers seeking to maximize the productivity of their printing investment," said Thomas Grecco, senior vice president, Canon Canada Inc., Direct Sales Division. "EFI's Velocity was selected as our workflow solution because it offers a powerful yet easy to use system for maximizing printing throughput."
