), debuts its brightest projector ever at this year's annual Infocomm exhibit in Orlando, Fla.

The new LV-7555 LCD multimedia projector illuminates corporate boardrooms, meeting rooms and large venues with 4600 ANSI lumens brightness, a 900:1 contrast ratio, the precision of Canon optics and high resolution imagery in a quiet package.

"Canon designed this projector for use in large, demanding venues like meeting centers, sizeable conference rooms and university theatres," said Yukiaki Hashimoto, senior vice president and general manager of the Consumer Imaging Group at Canon U.S.A., Inc. "The Canon LV-7555 LCD projector offers presenters exceptional brightness and the exacting quality of Canon optics to meet the challenges of these difficult environments."

In addition, viewer will see a crisp display of video and text images with the projector's native XGA (EXtended Graphics Array) A screen resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. The term stems from IBM's XGA display standard introduced in 1990, which extended VGA to 132-column text and interlaced 1,024x768x256 resolution. XGA-2 later added non-interlaced 1,024x768x64K.  resolution. This new unit will also support SXGA (Super XGA) A screen resolution of 1280x1024 pixels. SXGA is commonly used on standard monitors, but provides a 1.25:1 aspect ratio, compared to the more common 1.33:1 (4:3) ratio. SXGA+ has a 1400x1050 resolution, which is an exact 1.33:1 ratio. See PC display modes.  resolution through high-quality compression.

This brilliant new projector features a new advanced Integrated Circuit (IC) that improves picture quality through a number of features, including:

-- Color Management function allows users to identify a specific

color for manual adjustment;

-- The 2-3 Pull-Down option minimizes motion artifacts on DVDs

that were transferred from film;

-- Auto Picture Control will automatically optimize image

quality;

-- Intelligent Image Sharpness function will analyze an incoming

signal and sharpen only the areas that need attention; and

-- the new IC chip will also convert all interlaced Refers to a display system or image that uses interlacing and does not render contiguous lines one after the other. See interlace and interlaced GIF.  signals -

including 1080i HDTV (High Definition TV) A set of digital television (DTV) standards that offer the highest resolution and sharpest picture. Although some HDTV sets are available in standard (rather square) screen sizes, the overwhelming majority of sets are wide screen, which eliminates  - to progressive scan for optimal image

quality.

Exceptionally quiet, the Canon LV-7555 projector's silent mode reduces fan noise to 35dB. Presenters can achieve maximum connectivity via a DVI (1) (Digital Video Interactive) An earlier compression technique that provided up to 72 minutes of full-screen video on a CD-ROM. Available with four optional Canon quality lenses, including Ultra Wide Angle, Wide Angle Zoom, Long Focus Zoom, and Ultra Long Focus Zoom, the LV-7555 projector allows presenters to match their lens to the room size and environment.

Available as an option, Canon's newest accessory - the Network Imager - allows the LV-755 LCD projector to be connected to an Ethernet network. The Network Imager allows presenters to control a variety of projector functions via networked computer, including Power On/Off, Input switching, and picture adjustments.

Users can receive system status messages - like the projector lamp replacement alert - via email. Additionally, the Network Imager remotely transfers images from a computer to the projector and it centralizes the control of multiple LV-7555 projectors.

The Canon LV-7555 LCD multimedia projector will be available in mid-July at authorized Canon dealers, for a suggested list price of $7,999. The projector comes with a three-year warranty on parts and labor plus a 120-day warranty on the lamp.
