Canon's New imageCLASS MF3110 Laser Multifunction Delivers New Standard of Value and Performance for Small/Home Office Users.

Canon U.S.A., Inc., the nation's market share brand leader in black-and-white and color laser copier/printer solutions(a) , today announced the addition of the new imageCLASS(R) MF3110 laser multifunction printer, a device featuring business-quality black-and-white laser printing with copying and color scanning capabilities, for the price of most single function laser models. With a suggested retail price of $249(b) , the MF3110 furthers Canon's strategy of providing the converging small office/home office (SOHO) market with entry-level products that incorporate the same great print quality and advanced features typically found within high-end Canon models.

Canon's MF3110 prints and copies at speeds of up to 21 pages-per-minute for Letter-size sheets, while the platen glass accepts originals up to 8.5 inches by 11.7 inches. The device also accepts paper stock up to 8.5 inches by 14 inches (legal) and features a 250-sheet front-loading paper cassette with a manual tray for envelopes and other various paper sizes. Designed with a sleek new, two-toned look for the SOHO desk, the MF3110 boasts a small footprint to help decrease workspace clutter. For enhanced speed when printing and scanning, the product has a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface(c) and utilizes Canon's Single Cartridge System, which houses the toner and drum in one unit - resulting in easy replacement and eliminates the need to stock separate consumables. Shared printing through a network is available with an optional print server.

SOHO users can complete a variety of color scanning tasks easily, with business-quality results, thanks to a true optical resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi and an enhanced resolution of 9600 dpi. Using Charged-Coupled Device (CCD) technology and achieving color depth of up to 48-bit internal/24-bit output helps to ensure that scans are faithful to the original document. The Canon driver for Windows(R) ScanSoft(R) OmniPage(R) SE Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software, NewSoft(R) and Presto! Page-Manager(R) is included to help scan text documents for editing quickly and easily.

The imageCLASS MF3110 will begin shipping to retail outlets in October 2004 with a limited one-year warranty.
