Canon, Nikon Led Lithography Market in 2001 Says The Information Network.

) and Nikon in an otherwise catastrophic year for the semiconductor industry moved them to the top of the lithography sector, according to the report "Sub 0.25-Micron Lithography: Market Analysis and Strategic Issues," recently published by The Information Network, a New Tripoli, PA-based market research company.

In terms of revenues, Canon led the $5.5 billion market with a 42% share, as its revenues increased 13% over 2000. The Information Network projects the lithography market to grow 6.8% to $5.8 billion in 2002.

In terms of the number of lithography tools sold in 2001, Nikon was the market leader with a 42% share. Nikon has led the market in shipments for more than a decade, and narrowly edged out ASML ASML Abstract State Machine Language
