at Headfield Mills on Savile Road in Dewsbury.

Officers discovered the caravans containing plants and hydroponics hydroponics, growing of plants without soil in water to which nutrients have been added. Hydroponics has been used for over a century as a research technique, but not until 1929 were experiments conducted solely to determine its feasibility for growing commercial  equipment after finding a hole in a partition wall behind a pile of boxes.

A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis with intent to supply.

He has been bailed pending further forensic enquiries.

Neighbourhood policing teams also found a suspected cannabis factory on Wormald Street in Liversedge on Tuesday after a member of the public reported a funny smell coming from the house..

They seized 38 plants. A 56-year-old man was arrested for production with intent to supply.

He has been bailed pending forensic enquiries.

The plants found in the two raids had an estimated value of more than pounds 50,000.

Pc Benny Richardson, of the Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We would urge residents to keep the tip-offs coming by looking out for cannabis farms exposed by clues during the summer months."
