Cannabis farm uncovered in terraced street by police.


A CANNABIS farm was discovered in a terraced south Liverpool street Liverpool Street can refer to:

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the address in Blythswood Street, Aigburth, at around 10.20am yesterday.

Armed with a warrant officers from the Hawk team - the police's anti-drug unit -

smashed the door in.

As officers went in through the front door two men fled out of the back.

After a short chase one was caught nearby - but the second managed to get away.

Inside the rented property, police found 71 cannabis plants at various stages of growth. They were hooked up to a cultivation system Cultivation System

No value has yet been put on the find. But it is thought the plants would have been worth thousands on the streets.

Neighbours said the pungent odour of cannabis could be smelt right down the short road.

The 27-year-old man arrested at the scene was questioned at Admiral Street police station on suspicion of cannabis cultivation Cannabis cultivation may mean or refer to:

He was later bailed pending the outcome of forensic tests on the plants.

Insp Stuart Quirk said: "This continues our war on crime.
