Cannabis 'used for religious reasons'.

 for religious reasons was ordered to carry out unpaid work yesterday.

James Bomford, 43, of Pen y Parc, Pentraeth, Anglesey appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court for sentencing after previously being found guilty of possessing cannabis.

Defending himself, Bomford said: "Using cannabis in a religious way has not damaged me in any way.

He added: "I am doing a lot of unpaid work for the community."

Bomford showed the court a symbolic feather given to him by "a tribal elder."

Judge Granville Perry said: "You seek to present yourself as a free spirit not constrained con·strain
