Shacked Up is the second book in a trilogy about the lives of London teens. (The first book, Hard Cash, received a favorable review in KLIATT in November 2003.) Rich is living rent free in a flat, but he has taken in a roommate, Bonny, who has run away from her Ab Fab mum Tigger, a ditsy dit·sy also dit·zy

Rich makes peace overtures toward his father, on the advice of Barb and Nick, his landlords. Dad has decided that perhaps Rich isn't a loser, since he is making money from his art and is doing well in school. Since "this isn't a crap American teen sitcom," the characters, who are mostly 17, deal with sex, drugs, and family tensions in a realistic and humorous way. These teens and the adults in their lives are appealing, so the reader cares about their fate. By the end of this novel, Portia is out and Bonny is, maybe, Miss Right. Includes obscenities.
