Canham semifinalist for Bench Award.

CORVALLIS - Oregon State's Mitch Canham is one of 10 semifinalists for the 2007 Johnny Bench Award The Johnny Bench Award was created in 2000 to honor college baseball's top catcher. It is dedicated to the former Cincinnati catcher Johnny Bench, who by some is considered to be the best defensive catcher in baseball history. , given to the nation's top catcher in college baseball.

Canham is batting .345 with nine home runs and 52 RBIs for Oregon State (36-16 overall, 8-13 Pac-10). The Beavers finish their regular season this weekend at UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles

Lane's Lopez, Jacobson earn NWAACC NWAACC Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges  honors

Platt heading to Germany this summer with AIA

Oregon's Mitch Platt has been invited to play a series of exhibition games in Germany this summer with the Athletes in Action Athletes in Action (AIA) is an evangelical Christian sports ministry. Oregon State rowers

earn coaches' honors

CORVALLIS - Kaylie Towne earned first-team West Region honors Monday as eight Oregon State women's rowing team members were cited by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).

Caroline Leibinger was selected as a second-team member.

Towne was one of six Oregon State rowers to earn the title of CRCA National Scholar-Athlete, along with Erica O'Connell, Rebecca Franceschi, Claire Hanway, Jane Ivey and Melissa Penwell.
