Multi-Media Productions (USA), Inc. is proud to announce the appearance of Aubrey Chernick, chairman and chief executive officer of Candle Corporation, on World Business Review. The weekly television series focuses on business and technology, and is hosted by General Alexander Haig, former Secretary of State for President Reagan and former COO and president of United Technologies. Joining the discussion on the topic of "E-business Fulfillment and Business Integration" are Mark Yurgelevic, director of Emerging Markets at Exodus Communications Exodus Communications was a high-flying internet hosting and service provider to dot-com businesses that went broke along with their customers. "Candle Corporation was selected to appear on the program because it has leveraged its 24 years of experience in building and managing complex IT infrastructures to become a leading provider of flexible, interoperable e-business solutions designed to support today's whirlwind-paced business environment," said Barry Reuben, the show's senior coordinating producer.

Candle Corporation provides fast, flexible e-business solutions in the areas of business-system integration, management and performance. These solutions address a company's front-end Web presence, back-office "legacy" mainframes that handle business transactions, and the distributed systems Distributed systems (computers)

that link them. Candle provides solutions to a variety of industry groups, including banking and finance, insurance, utilities, telecommunications, and federal, state and local governments.

Chernick appears on World Business Review to discuss e-business interoperability among service providers. Chernick said companies need to be swift in their time-to-market of products and services, and one means of accomplishing this task is through collaboration, which occurs through more effective systems interoperability. "Technology can provide the vital catalyst to allow a company to [partner] with its suppliers and with its channels to conquer new marketplaces," said Chernick.

Regarding e-business best practices, Yurgelevic said that companies seek four key factors, including "scope, depth, speed as well as agility to be able to partner and collaborate in an environment where their business model is going to be very conducive." Referring to the future of Internet communications, he went on to say, "Companies are going to have time-to-market advantages and they're going to have more distribution through their partners and their customers."

Industry expert Miklovic said today's need for accelerated speed poses a few technical challenges. "With speed, you can move more information, so you've got bigger amounts of data to handle. The other thing is that speed requires reaction from people, so there are people issues. Third, you also have the fact that speed is sometimes a disconnect," he said. "It might be great to go shopping online and have that instantaneous access, but the goods still have to get [to the customer the] good old-fashioned way -- by truck -- so there are issues that have to be resolved," Miklovic continued.
