Eugene city council candidates George Poling and Mike Clark won't have to stay up late on election night.

Poling and Clark don't have opponents in the May 16 primary, so they will automatically advance as candidates to the Nov. 7 ballot.

Poling is seeking a second four-year term to represent Ward 4, which covers the eastern part of the city, north of the Willamette River Willamette River

Mike Clark

Personal: 42, married, two children.

Education: Attended University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. , political science major.

Work experience: Advertising and marketing executive, president, Marketing Consultants Inc., Eugene; advertising sales, KLSR Fox TV, KUGN Radio, Eugene.

Civic experience: City budget committee.
