Candela reports profitable fourth quarter.

WAYLAND, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 16, 1995--Candela Laser Corp. (CLZR) announced today that its fourth fiscal quarter was profitable.

Revenue for the fourth quarter was $7,406,000, compared with $8,160,000 for the same quarter one year ago, a decrease of 9 percent. Net income for the quarter was $372,000, compared with $281,000 for the same quarter one year ago, an increase of 32 percent. Earnings per share for the quarter were $0.07 compared with $0.05 for the same quarter last year.

Revenue for the full year was $26,466,000, compared with $29,612,000 in the prior year, a decrease of 11 percent. Net loss for the year was $1,577,000, compared with net income of $614,000 in the previous year. Net loss per share was $0.30 compared with net income per share of $0.12 last year.

President and CEO, Gerard E. Puorro stated, "This most recent quarter showed increased activity in all our markets. Our cryogenic offerings were particularly strong, and we are confident that as this market unfolds, we are well positioned, through our new partnership, to take advantage of it."
