Candela receives Japanese approval for new product.

WAYLAND, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 1995--Candela Laser Corp. (CLZR) announced today that it has been granted approval from the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOH) to sell a new medical laser in Japan.

This increases the total number of MOH cleared Candela products to seven. The MOH plays a regulatory role similar to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and its guidelines are very rigorous and not easily met even by Japanese companies.

The new product is the MDL-3000, the latest and most advanced model of Candela's LaserTripter for the urology market. This new product will help Candela maintain and improve its leadership position in the Japanese urology market.
