Candela expands skin laser product line.

WAYLAND, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 1996--Candela Corporation (NASDAQ:CLZR) announced today the addition of the ScleroPLUS laser to its family of laser systems designed to treat a vast variety of cosmetic conditions.

All of these cosmetic conditions can now be treated with a single laser, the ScleroPLUS, because of its enhanced technology. The new laser allows physicians to treat leg veins, facial spider veins, warts, scars, stretch marks, port wine stains and other vascular lesions.

The first of Candela's innovative vascular lesion systems was introduced in 1988 and was developed specifically for treating port wine stains in children. The second in the family, the ScleroLaser, was introduced in February of 1996, specifically to treat leg veins. The new ScleroPLUS rounds out this expanded family of products by combining the features of both systems. This gives physicians a choice. They can specialize in the patient conditions that enhance their practices, while providing a range of price options.
