Cancer Center CEO Spotlights TomoTherapy in Address on Capital Equipment Acquisition.

Innovative system design, treatment plan quality and installation services cited as key factors for choosing HioArt([R]) cancer treatment system

MADISON, Wis. -- The TomoTherapy([R]) HioArt([R]) cancer treatment system was featured in a presentation on capital equipment acquisition during the Association of Cancer Executives (ACE) annual meeting, Feb. 14-17, 2009, in Sarasota, Fla. The presentation was delivered by Terry McKay, founder and former president of ACE and current president and CEO of the West Michigan Cancer Center (WMCC), Kalamazoo, Mich. Ms. McKay detailed the reasons why WMCC chose the innovative radiation therapy solution developed by TomoTherapy Incorporated (NASDAQ: TOMO), and discussed how the HioArt system installation ranks among her 14 career linear accelerator (linac) purchases.

In the months since acquiring TomoTherapy technology, McKay believes that WMCC's capabilities have expanded dramatically.

McKay stated that WMCC accepted delivery of the HioArt treatment system at the end of August 2008. In less than a month, clinical staff treated their first cancer patient using the device. According to Ms. McKay, "I have installed 13 other linacs in a career that has lasted for more than three decades. The TomoTherapy install was the fastest, easiest and most trouble-free installation I have had yet."
