Canasil Resources Inc. and Northgate Exploration Limited: Higher Grade Gold Copper Intersections at Brenda; Further Drilling Planned for 2004.Business Editors VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 28, 2003 Canasil Resources Inc. (Canasil) (TSXV: CLZ CLZ craft landing zone (US DoD) CLZ Calabozo Airport (Venezula) CLZ cushion landing zone (US DoD) ) and Northgate Exploration Limited (Northgate) (TSX TSX Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE before April, 2002) TSX Transfer from Stack Pointer to Index TSX True Space Extension : NGX NGX Natural Gas Exchange Inc. (Canada) NGX Next Generation X ) (AMEX AMEX See: American Stock Exchange : NXG NXG Necrobiotic Xanthogranuloma (rare, progressive, histiocytic disease) ) are pleased to announce the results of the 2003 drilling program at the Brenda property in the Kemess-Toodoggone district of northern British Columbia British Columbia, province (2001 pop. 3,907,738), 366,255 sq mi (948,600 sq km), including 6,976 sq mi (18,068 sq km) of water surface, W Canada. Geography . The results obtained in the 2003 exploration program are a significant improvement over 2002 drilling results in terms of both the gold and copper grades as well as the length of the overall drill intersections. Based on these encouraging results, Northgate has made the scheduled $30,000 Option payment to Canasil and will continue exploration in the summer of 2004. During the 2003 exploration season, five diamond drill holes for a total of 1485 m were completed at the Brenda property. The location of these holes is shown in the attached map (figure 1) and the drill collar coordinates and orientation of each hole are listed in table 1. Holes BR-03-06 and BR-03-07 are the most significant, intersecting gold, copper and silver in a porphyry Porphyry, Greek scholar Porphyry (pôr`fĭrē), c.232–c.304, Greek scholar and Neoplatonic philosopher. Holes BR-03-05, BR-03-08, and BR-03-09 had no significant intersections. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Brenda Intersection Summary -------------------------------------------------------------------- Hole From (m) To (m) Length (m) Au g/t Cu % Ag g/t -------------------------------------------------------------------- BR-03-06 58.9 120.8 61.9 0.440 0.128 2.82 -------------------------------------------------------------------- BR-03-07 100.5 262.1 161.6 0.565 0.079 4.02 -------------------------------------------------------------------- These results are particularly encouraging as the mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Northgate President Ken Stowe commented "We are very pleased with these results as this length of intersection demonstrates potential for a significant resource. This also continues to support our belief that the Toodoggone district is a geologically prospective and under explored region of British Columbia." Canasil President Bahman Yamini commented "These positive drill results confirm our expectations for the Brenda property and we look forward to the continuing relationship with Northgate." The BRENDA property comprises 178 mineral claim units, covering 44.0 square kilometres, and is situated approximately 25 km north west of Northgate's Kemess South Mine in the core of the Kemess-Toodoggone porphyry gold-copper / epithermal district. The property is the subject of Option and Joint Venture Agreements signed on July 31, 2002, providing for Northgate to earn a 60% interest by completing exploration expenditures of $2,000,000 and making cash payments totaling $140,000 over a four year period. Core splitting of all samples was carried out at the Kemess mine Kemess Mine is an open-pit copper and gold mine, located in British Columbia. It was operated by Royal Oak Mines from 1998 to 2000, when it was bought by Northgate Minerals.
