LODI, Calif. -- Canandaigua Wine is launching an exciting new premium brand this month called Turner Road Vineyards -- three rich, smooth wines from emerging California appellations including its flagship Lodi Shiraz, a Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon and a Central Coast Chardonnay.

Crafted by Winemaker Matt Parish, the premium wines of Turner Road (www.turnerroadvineyards.com) are intensely rich with vibrant fruit flavors and a smooth mouthfeel. To achieve this consumer-friendly flavor profile, the winemaker maps out the most desirable sites in California for each grape variety. This strict selection process is based upon each region's ability to yield fully ripened fruit with perfectly balanced flavors and great structure. Meticulous, site-specific winemaking with an emphasis on vibrant fruit and richness of flavor transforms our vineyard lots into wines that boast Turner Road's signature style.

In developing the eye-catching packaging, Canandaigua Wine conducted consumer research to develop a design that conveys the premium quality of Turner Road. Consumers found the packaging to be highly memorable, with strong shelf presence, and felt that it evoked premium quality. They found the label graphics and colors to be modern, sophisticated, upscale and artistic.

Turner Road Vineyards is a top priority for Canandaigua Wine and the marketing team has taken the steps necessary to make Turner Road a market leader. Once the package was successfully developed, a team of key sales and marketing managers worked together to develop intense, market-focused support programs to bring the premium wines to market for long-term success.

The Turner Road portfolio is being launched nationally and is expected to begin arriving on shelves in September. The wines include a 2002 Lodi Shiraz, a 2002 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2003 Central Coast Chardonnay. The premium wines of Turner Road are line-priced with a suggested retail price of $10.99.
