He has served in many senior management positions over his career. Prior to his responsibilities as President, El Paso Oil and gas Canada, Inc., Harvey was responsible for El Paso's international exploration program as Senior Vice President International Exploration, El Paso Production Company; and, Coastal Oil and Gas Corporation's ("Coastal") worldwide exploration programs (1993 - 2000) as Senior Vice President Exploration, Coastal prior to the El Paso Coastal merger. Prior to joining Coastal and El Paso, Harvey was Vice President-International Exploration with Maxus Energy and held several senior positions with Maxus and Diamond Shamrock Oil Shamrock Oil is an oil company based mostly in the American southern states.
