.) eBill-Payments web site application is proving a major success - in just nine months more than 300 shippers doing $1.5 billion in business annually with CN have signed up for the electronic service.

Customers accessing eBill through CN's e-commerce website can receive, review and pay invoices through an Internet browser See Web browser. . eBill's secure on-line environment offers customers accurate, real-time invoice information, flexible payment scheduling and processing of disputes, and the ability to download invoice information into their accounts payable systems. Payment can be by cheque, wire transfer, direct deposit or direct debit.

Claude Mongeau, CN's executive vice-president and chief financial officer, said: "eBill simplifies the overall billing process and makes it easier for shippers to do business with CN. It's clearly been well received by our customers - just nine months after eBill was launched in January 2001, almost 30 per cent of CN's customer base by annual revenue has registered to use the application."

Serge Pharand, CN's vice-president and corporate comptroller, said: "eBill is improving CN's customer communication. Invoice information is easier for our shippers to understand and it's delivered to them quickly, usually the next business day. This has accelerated the bill collection cycle. At the same time CN and its customers are enjoying improved productivity, reduced paper reproduction and lower distribution costs involved in the processing and payment of invoices."

CN is encouraging more of its customers to take advantage of the significant benefits of eBill.
