Canadian National's Toronto CargoFlo Terminal Wins Preferred Status Handling Designation from Leading Manufacturer of Polyolefins.

:CNI) Canadian National's CargoFlo terminal in Toronto has won preferred status designation for the handling of polypropylene and polyethylene produced by Montell, a global leader in the manufacture and marketing of polyolefins.

In winning the designation, the CargoFlo terminal scored in the highest range of Montell's assessment of overall quality, on-time delivery, documentation and procedures.

Polypropylene and related products have a wide range of applications, including automotive, industrial, packaging, consumer products, textiles and medical devices.

The Toronto CargoFlo terminal transfers Montell polypropylene and polyethylene pellets from vacuum-pneumatic rail cars to trucks for delivery in the Greater Toronto Area The Greater Toronto Area (widely abbreviated as the GTA) is the most populous metropolitan area in Canada. The GTA is a provincial planning area with a population of 5,555,912 at the 2006 Canadian Census. . The Toronto terminal, which received ISO 9002 designation in 1995, handles more than 500,000 tons of resin pellets, grain products, acids, oils and liquid sweeteners each year.

CN is pursuing ISO 9002 certification for all 21 CargoFlo terminals on its North American system and expects to achieve this certification for its Montreal CargoFlo terminal - the second largest on the network - by next year. CN is also seeking Montell's preferred status designation for the Montreal terminal.

Montell, with headquarters in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands, is a global leader in the production, marketing and sale of polypropylene, advanced polyolefin materials and related products and has production plants at more than 30 key locations on five continents. Montell, with 1998 sales of US$2.7 billion, received ISO 9002 designation in 1997.
