Black River First Nation, Manitoba: For Ojibway/Williche Well Being & Health Care Project in Chile; to share knowledge in traditional health practices, experience in the management of forest resources and the development of culturally appropriate educational materials. The aim is to promote sustainable economic development, reduce poverty, and improve health and environmental protection. The project will also provide an opportunity for youth exchanges and the development of long-term economic and cultural partnerships between the Ojibway and Williche peoples. $99,500

Terre Sans Frontieres, La Prairie, MB: To undertake international development work in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Chad, Burundi, Congo, Honduras, Haiti, and the Philippines, focussing on formal and non-formal education, as well as some health (HIV/AIDS) projects to achieve sustainable development. The organization was formed in 1980 and over the years it has sent more than 300 professionals overseas as volunteers. It helps reduce poverty and hunger through its universal primary education and basic food security projects and promotes gender equality. $7.8 million over five years to support international development work by -based.
