Canadian Executive Appointed to Lead Cubic's Customer Service and Marketing Efforts in Canada.

Robert Reilander, a senior executive with extensive experience in both Canadian and U.S. military and civilian government sectors, has been named president of Cubic Field Services, Canada, Ltd., a subsidiary of San Diego-based Cubic Corporation (AMEX:CUB).

Reilander began work for Cubic on Feb. 2. In his new position, he will represent Cubic's growing field service operations in Canada and actively market the full range of Cubic products to the Canadian government and other customers.

Koon, vice president and general manager of Cubic's Worldwide Technical Services Division, which oversees Cubic Field Services, Canada (CFSC). Reilander came to Cubic from Motorola Canada Ltd., where he managed a successful sales division dealing primarily with the Canadian federal government on public safety and homeland security solutions. He is a retired lieutenant colonel who served 23 years with Canada's Department of National Defence, and was a member of the Air Force Communications and Electronics Branch. In that capacity, he managed numerous project teams and was the project manager of several billion-dollar programs, including the Joint Space Project (JSP) and the Canadian Military Satellite Communications (CMSC) Project. He also served as both project director and project manager for multiple satellite communications projects for Joint (Army, Navy and Air Force) operations.

Reilander also has U.S. work experience. He worked for three years at the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) in Fort Monmouth, N.J., as a Canadian Forces exchange officer handling special projects involving satellite communications.

Reilander entered the military following graduation from the Royal Military College of Canada in 1978. In 1988, he received a Master of Science in Space Operations from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and completed a Master of Business Administration from Queen's University in 2002.

Cubic currently has about 30 defense employees in Canada. They provide operations and maintenance services for air combat training and instrumentation systems at Cold Lake, Alberta, and Bagotville, Quebec, and operations and maintenance for the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) in Alberta. Cubic expects its Canadian workforce to grow in the near term as the Canada Weapons Effect Simulation (WES) is completed and moves into the operational support phase in Wainwright, Alberta.

Cubic Transportation Systems, another subsidiary of Cubic Corporation, has installed automatic fare collection systems in Edmonton and Vancouver.

Cubic Field Services Canada Ltd. is part of the Cubic Defense Applications (CDA) group, one of Cubic's two major segments. CDA provides realistic combat training systems for military forces as well as simulation training, force transformation assistance, educational services, operations and maintenance, and manufacturing services.
