:TU), one of Canada's leading telecommunications companies, has chosen Click2learn (Nasdaq:CLKS) to power an e-Learning initiative to improve readiness of its 28,000-member workforce.

The company has selected ToolBook as its enterprise-wide solution for e-Learning content development throughout its 13 business units.

"TELUS isn't only a leading national data and Internet services provider -- our company makes the most of the efficiencies and productivity gains available through those technologies," said Brad Harper, vice-president Human Resources The fancy word for "people." The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees. , e.HR initiative. "After an evaluation of all the major e-Learning content authoring solutions, we found Click2learn provided the best e-Learning publishing power, performance and ease of use. Using Click2learn's authoring solutions, we'll be able to quickly develop and deploy product and region-specific content to help TELUS employees quickly adapt to our ever-changing telecommunications marketplace."

Key to the company's decision to standardize on ToolBook was the software's successful use in a pilot course created by TELUS employees to train call center and customer service representatives on a new product offering for TELUS. The company plans to use ToolBook to create e-Learning courses on new TELUS products and services for employees, resellers and partners. TELUS will track the return-on-investment of its e-Learning campaigns, measuring increases in sales revenues and reductions in customer service costs.

Hundreds of companies and government organizations have standardized on ToolBook for their creation of SCORM- and AICC-compliant content. The software was recently named one of the best e-Learning authoring tools on the market today by e-Learning analyst firm brandon-hall.com.

"Click2learn is pleased to count TELUS among our enterprise-level ToolBook customers," said Brad Crain, vice president, ToolBook, for Click2learn. "Today's announcement is a tribute to Click2learn's leadership in the e-Learning authoring market and testament to ToolBook's strength and extensibility. Moving forward, Click2learn is committed to continuing this leadership, providing TELUS the most extensive and powerful range of e-Learning authoring solutions on the market today."

Click2learn has announced that in the near future ToolBook will be expanded, adding advanced software simulation authoring and deeply integrating the technology with Click2learn's AspenTM Enterprise Learning Platform.

"Our ability to provide team TELUS with dynamic learning, powered by Click2learn, increases our capabilities in the marketplace. We are executing a strategy that empowers our employees with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today's economy," Harper said.
