 will be able to get a full dose of personality programming when The Biography Channel kicks off in September September: see month.  2001, thanks to a partnership between A&E Television Networks, Rogers Broadcasting Limited and Shaw Communications Shaw Communications Inc. (TSX: SJR.NV.B NYSE: SJR) is a Canadian telecomunications company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.

The company was founded by J.R. Shaw in 1966 as Capital Cable Television Co Ltd..

Proving that Canadians have an interest in the genre, the BIOGRAPHY series has consistently garnered high ratings during its 13 years on Canada's A&E Network. The program, which has profiled more than 800 personages, won the 2000 Governor's Award from The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Canada will become the newest member of The Biography Channel family. The channel made its international debut in the U.K. in October 2000 and has been launched in Scandinavia, Latin America Latin America, the Spanish-speaking, Portuguese-speaking, and French-speaking countries (except Canada) of North America, South America, Central America, and the West Indies. , France, Israel, Spain, Portugal, Japan and the Middle East.
