The technologies developed by Singingfish allow Internet users to find digital audio and video files on the Internet. With this technology, Singingfish has indexed millions of links to streaming and downloadable media files. "Sympatico-Lycos users are becoming increasingly net savvy," said Nick Gaudreau, vice president, Sympatico.ca. "There's a great deal of high quality broadband content on the Web and within our portal in our news, entertainment and music channels. "Streaming media" refers to audio, video and interactive files delivered to a user's computer via the Internet or other network environment. The advantage over traditional formats is that streaming files begin to play before the entire file is downloaded, saving end-users the long wait.
