Canada's Customs Excise Union Douanes Accise to Receive $400 Donation From Widow Toward Purchase of Bulletproof Vest for Windsor Customs Officer.

OTTAWA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 2000

Kathy Brooks, widow of Bill Brooks -- a former Canadian Customs Officer, has made a $400 donation to CEUDA so that the union may purchase a bulletproof vest and provide it to a Customs Officer working in Windsor, Ontario. A presentation will be made regarding the donation, with thanks offered to Kathy Brooks and a dedication to Bill Brooks who will be remembered by Customs Officers working in Windsor as a true Officer's Officer.

Also, having imported the 100 bulletproof vests donated by the Rochester Police Pistol Club (RPPC), New York, U.S., which were delivered at the Commercial Building at the Peace Bridge, Fort Erie, Ontario, on Monday, January 24, 2000, by Roy Adams, President of the RPPC, CEUDA will proceed to issue a number of vests to Canadian Customs Inspectors working in Windsor.

Other local bulletproof vest donors, such as Windsor Police retirees, a CN Railway Police retiree, University of Windsor Campus Police Officers, and a former member of the Canadian Airborne Regiment, will also be thanked.

         A question and answer period, with photo op, will follow.
