Lake Project located near Wawa, Ontario during the past summer field season. These are the first kimberlites known from this area and were found within two months of initiating the field program. The largest of the two kimberlites is estimated to be 400 metres by 200 metres in size. The kimberlites are located in areas where sub-calcic G-1O garnets have been recovered in modern alluvium al·lu·vi·um

samples. Several other samples of boulder material suspected of being kimberlitic is presently being analyzed.

It is expected that further kimberlites will be discovered on the basis of airborne magnetic data and distribution of kimberlite indicator minerals recovered in the summer geochemical sampling program.

Three hundred of the over 700 geochemical samples collected have been concentrated and analyzed for kimberlite indicator minerals. About 25 percent of the samples analyzed to date contain kimberlite indicator minerals. Determination of mineral chemistry will commence shortly and results will be used to determine follow-up targets.
