Kennecott has recently advised the Joint Venture partners that the summer field program was successfully completed. The program consisted of follow-up indicator mineral sampling in high priority areas, as well as additional regional reconnaissance sampling on the Rocky Island Lake Project. Processing of the samples is now well underway at Kennecott's Thunder Bay Thunder Bay, city (1991 pop. 113,946), SW Ont., Canada, on Thunder Bay inlet of Lake Superior. Kennecott has indicated that it is highly encouraged by the results achieved to date, and are looking forward to the upcoming winter program. The budget to complete the above planned programs has been approved. Kennecott has the option to earn a 60% interest in the Ontario Joint Venture by spending $25 million within seven years, or by advancing any one of the Projects to a production decision, whichever occurs first. Kennecott, as operator, must spend $1.5 million on exploration before December 10, 2000. Canabrava Diamond Corporation is actively exploring for diamonds in Brazil and Canada.
