.S) (TSE:CGS.A) announced today that its Board of Directors has named each of Leonard Asper and David Asper to the position of Executive Vice President.

David Asper was formerly Vice-President Programming and as such, held corporate responsibility for supervising program acquisition and production. These responsibilities will be assumed by President and Chief Executive Officer, Peter Viner. Mr. Asper will still remain concerned with Operations and Programming, but will now take on further responsibilities in External Relations and Corporate Development.

Leonard Asper was formerly Vice-President, Corporate Development, supervising and/or initiating all new business startups or acquisitions both in Canada and abroad. In his new role, he will remain in charge for all corporate development but will expand his area of interest to include operations and corporate affairs.

In their new roles, Messrs. Asper will be working more closely with newly appointed President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , Peter Viner. The Board has also established an Executive Committee consisting of Peter Viner and Messrs. I.H. Asper, Leonard Asper, and David Asper. Mr. Asper, Sr., Executive Chairman of the Board, will chair the committee.
