The company extraction research team has successfully installed batch-test, pilot plant circuits at the facility. The circuits are equipped with vat-leaching tanks, pumps and extractive-recovery filtration systems. The on-site laboratory has been refurbished to operate on a continual basis. Independent professional consultants were contracted to design and set up the batch test circuits for Phase I (Dec. 2000) and Phase II (Jan. 2001). To date the company has tested several extraction processes including vat-tank leaching, pressurized pres·sur·ize tr.v. pres·sur·ized, pres·sur·iz·ing, pres·sur·iz·es 1. The company's goal is to select an environmentally acceptable, low cost precious metal recovery system. With the precious metal extraction results realized to date the Board anticipates a scaling up of the pilot plant's extraction capacity during this quarter. The Can-Cal focus will include verification and certification of pilot plant batch test and production scale recovered product and the marketing of a commercial product to precious metal refiners and buyers. Preliminary discussions have been held with refiners to establish the commercial viability of the material produced in order to determine the most successful and cost effective extraction technology. Can-Cal will publish specific analytical data when all of the results have been determined.
