Can you help police catch these thieves?Byline: By Anna Hammond South Wales Echo The South Wales Echo is a daily newspaper distributed in south Wales. It was founded in 1884 and is based in Thomson House, Cardiff city centre. It is published daily, in a tabloid form, by Media Wales Ltd (formerly Western Mail & Echo Ltd), part of the Trinity Mirror group. This gang of suspected villains are wanted by police after a weekend raid on a car showroom. They drove off with five vehicles, including two Ford Transit The Ford Transit is a range of panel vans, minibuses and pickup trucks, produced by the Ford Motor Company in Europe. The Transit has been the best-selling light commercial vehicle in Europe for 40 years, and in some countries the term "Transit" has passed into common usage vans, worth more than pounds 50,000 after breaking into the garage office. Security cameras at Evans Halshaw on Newport Road, Cardiff, show the culprits forcing open a box of keys in the office, setting off the alarm and then wandering around the forecourt picking out cars and vans. Police have since found three of the stolen vehicles - a Ford Transit panel van, a Ford Focus car and a Ford Ranger - in the Splott and Tremorfa areas of the city, which have been forensically examined. But they are still looking for the Transits. The numberplates of the white vans are VK54 CXD CXD Coherity XML Database (Coherity) CXD Coherent X-ray Diffraction CXD Cancel Approved Departure and CA06 UEP UEP Unequal Error Protection UEP United Egg Producers UEP United Effort Plan (Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints sect) UEP University of Eastern Philippines UEP Uniform Error Property UEP Unitary Extension Principle , but they have probably been changed by now. The break-in happened between 5pm on Saturday, December 16 and 10.30am on Sunday, December 17. One of the wanted men was wearing a distinctive jacket, which appeared to have the logo 'State of Illinois' on the back. Pc Chris Barry said: 'We would like to hear from anyone who has information about this burglary. 'We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who might recognise the distinctive jacket that one of the men was wearing at the time of the offence.' Anyone with information should contact Pc Barry at the Cardiff Intelligence Unit on 029 2052 7411 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting the Echo and today's date. |
