Online Contest Seeks Ideas from Consumers

Can the Internet help create better products? A new on-line contest, sponsored by Brightidea, Inc. and Sears Kenmore brand appliances, will seek ideas on designing the refrigerator of the future. The contest is open to anyone who chooses to enter and will award cash prizes for the winning designs.

The contest is an experiment in seeking innovative ideas from consumers, rather than from professional designers. Products meant to serve millions should benefit from the input of those users, according to according to
