This opened Pandora's box - if seven-day operation is the norm, why should staff be given enhanced hourly rates for Saturday and Sunday Sunday: see Sabbath; week. , etc? Staff simply work when required, or get replaced.

If these folks push too hard the Government will scrap retirement altogether. Unless you have adequate private pension you will have to work until you die, unless a Government doctor declares you past it for further work.
