Gerry Armstrong is a former member of the Church of Scientology who is now one of the most active critics of the Church.
 is wearing a new strip for brain injury charity Headway.

He is set to kick off a new career when he dons chef's whites on Monday and cooks food for 100 diners in a bid to raise muchneeded cash for the worthy cause.

For one night only he will be in the kitchen at popular Belfast restaurant, No 27 Talbot Street Talbot Street (Sráid Thalbóid in Irish) is a city-centre street located on Dublin's Northside and is one of the principal shopping streets of Dublin, running from Connolly station and the IFSC at Amiens Street in the east to Marlborough Street in the west. , under the guidance of leading chef Alan Higginson.

With a passion for cooking the opportunity to play a part in a busy restaurant kitchen is a goal that Gerry has wanted to score for a long time.

He added: "Adrian Lowry, the owner of No 27 Talbot Street, is a good friend of ours and I mentioned one night that I would love to cook in his kitchen and he took me up on my offer.

"My signature dish is paella which will be 'Gerry's Special' on the menu that night and I am hoping the orders will be flooding in!"
