Discounted Student Prices on Rental and

Purchase Makes Software Affordable;

Electronic Delivery Makes Software Available 24 Hours a Day

Campus Pipeline Inc. and e-academy Tuesday announced an alliance that makes it easy for college and university students to obtain the software they need for specialized courses and to avoid being tied to the campus computer lab.

The companies are working together to broaden access to products from publishers including Microsoft, Macromedia and Minitab, which students often need for just a few semesters. Some products are available through software rental, which gives temporary use to students who don't want or can't afford to buy the product.

Other programs are available for purchase at academic discounts of up to two-thirds below the retail price. All software is ordered and delivered electronically, allowing 24-hour purchasing and immediate download access.

"The students are the winners here," said e-academy Chief Executive Officer Ram Raju. "This means they'll have 24-hour access to the software they need, and they won't use more than a few clicks of the mouse to buy it. This partnership will allow our discounts to spread over Campus Pipeline's extensive educational network."
