Campaigning call goes out for linguists.


LINGUISTS A linguist in the academic sense is a person who studies linguistics. Ambiguously, the word is sometimes also used to refer to a polyglot (one who knows more than 2 languages), or a grammarian, but these two uses of the word are distinct.  across the West Midlands are being urged to come forward and inspire the next generation to learn a language.

The Try Life in another Language campaign, which aims to encourage more young people to choose a language at GCSE GCSE
1. (in Britain) General Certificate of Secondary Education; an examination in specified subjects which replaced the GCE O level and CSE

2. Informal a pass in a GCSE examination

Noun 1.
 or equivalent, is searching for 18 to 25 year olds who have benefited from using languages.

They are being asked to come forward by Monday with the possibility of starring in a major new languages advertising campaign.

The top entrant will be invited to star in a radio advert for the campaign.
